Ensure no instance of CopyCat Clipboard is running.
Decide where you want CopyCat to store its database files.
Example:
/Users/{username}/CopyCat-Data/
Windows
Move these files from:
C:\Users\{username}\Documents\
CopyCat-Clipboard-DB.isar
CopyCat-Clipboard-DB.isar-lck
CopyCat-Clipboard-DB.isar.lock
macOS
Move these files from:
/Users/{username}/Library/Containers/com.entilitystudio.CopyCat/Data/Documents/
CopyCat-Clipboard-DB.isar
CopyCat-Clipboard-DB.isar-lck
CopyCat-Clipboard-DB.isar.lock
(Some files may not exist; that is normal.)
macOS (Terminal)
echo 'export COPYCAT_DB_ROOT="$HOME/CopyCat-Data/"' >> ~/.zshrc && source ~/.zshrc
> $HOME is /Users/{username} on macOS.
Windows (PowerShell)
setx COPYCAT_DB_ROOT "%USERPROFILE%\CopyCat-Data"
> %USERPROFILE% is C:\Users\{username} on Windows.
Open the app again. It will now use the new root directory.
Close the app and Just complete Step 4 above to set the environment variable.
You will be prompted for a relogin
